Overview

Exploration is a vital part of Hochschild’s growth strategy and the Company continues to commit significant investment to its geological programme. Hochschild’s exploration is focused in two areas; mine-site exploration & advanced projects (brownfield), and early stage exploration (greenfield):

Brownfield exploration

Hochschild’s mine-site exploration programme, which is focused in and around the Company’s current mines, is aimed at increasing reserves and resources at a low cost per ounce. The Company also invests in advanced stage projects, either located in or around one of the Group’s existing clusters or in new mining friendly districts.

Greenfield exploration

The Company's greenfield exploration programme is focused on finding new, high-quality deposits. Our exploration team is continually evaluating new opportunities throughout Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru and has an extremely active project pipeline. Projects enter the Company’s pipeline either by way of internal discovery or through joint venture and are 100% owned or allow Hochschild to earn into majority ownership over time.
