Selene I Peru
The Selene site is located in the Department of Apurímac in southern Peru, at an altitude of 4,600 metres above sea level and approximately 180 kilometres away from the Ares unit.
Selene was an operating mine until May 2009 and produced 3,201 tonnes of concentrate with 1.6 million ounces of silver and 1.9 thousand ounces of gold in the full year 2008. Selene's plant continues to process the ore from Hochschild's Pallancata mine which is located 22 kilometres from Selene. The plant processes silver ore with associated gold to produce silver/gold bulk concentrate by flotation and is currently operating at a capacity of 3,000 tonnes per day.
