Where we operate

We have over 50 years’ operating experience in the Americas and currently have four underground mines in operation, three located in southern Peru and one in southern Argentina.

Peru

We have three underground mines in operation in southern Peru: Inmaculada, Arcata and Pallancata. We also have two Advanced Projects in Peru, Crespo and Azuca as well as an extensive portfolio of drill targets and other prospects.

Peru Drill Targets

We have an extensive portfolio of exploration projects in Peru. We have drilling campaigns in progress at a number of projects in Peru, including the Julieta Company Maker project and the Cuello Cuello and San Martin Medium Scale projects.

Azuca

Azuca is a 100% owned project located in our existing operating cluster in southern Peru. Following the announcement of positive scoping study results in October 2010, the project has progressed to pre-feasibility.

The Azuca project currently has resources of 90.8 million silver equivalent ounces and an intensive drilling campaign is in progress at the project, to develop additional resources and to provide a more comprehensive picture of the dispersed vein structures present in the area.

Inmaculada

The 100% owned Inmaculada underground operation is located in the Department of Ayacucho in southern Peru. It commenced production in June 2015.

Crespo

Crespo is 100% owned by Hochschild and is located in our existing operating cluster in southern Peru, approximately 145 kilometres southwest of Cuzco. The feasibility study published in January 2012 estimates average annual total silver equivalent production of 2.7 million silver equivalent ounces from a 6,850 tonne per day open pit operation.

Current project economics do not factor in almost 3.8 million tonnes of in-pit inferred resource, and in addition, there is further geological potential to the north of the current feasibility study resource base at the Queshca gold target.

Pallancata

The 100% owned Pallancata silver/gold property is located in the Department of Ayacucho in southern Peru, approximately 160 kilometres from the Arcata operation. Pallancata commenced production in 2007. Ore from Pallancata is transported 22 kilometres to the Selene plant for processing.

Arcata

Arcata is located in the Department of Arequipa in southern Peru, on a 47,000 hectare site, at an altitude of 4,600 metres above sea level. Arcata is a 100% owned underground operation that commenced production in 1964. The known vein structures at Arcata extend over 29 kilometres.

Volcan

The Volcan Gold Deposit was acquired as part of the Company’s acquisition of Andina Minerals Inc, announced in November 2012. The deposit is located in Chile’s Atacama Region, approximately 120 kilometres east of Copiapo, and is strategically located in the prolific Maricunga gold belt, which hosts a number of important gold deposits.

In Argentina we have the San José mine in operation. The San José mine is located in the Santa Cruz province, in southern Argentina. We also have a number of drill targets and prospects in Argentina. Our exploration office in Argentina is located in Mendoza.

Argentina Drill Targets

San José

The San Jose silver-gold mine is located in Argentina, in the Santa Cruz province, 1,750 kilometres south-southwest of Buenos Aires. The property covers a total area of 50,491 hectares and consists of 46 contiguous mining concessions totalling 40,499 hectares and an exploration permit covering almost 10,000 hectares. San Jose commenced production in 2007 and is a joint venture with McEwen Mining Inc. Hochschild controls 51% of the joint venture and is the mine operator.
